WHAT IS MASTERING?
We get calls here everyday at Supaslump Masters from Artists and Labels who heard that they should have their album mastered professionally but are not familiar with the process or techniques. “My tracks sound good already, is it really necessary to spend the extra money on Mastering?” they ask. Our answer is this:
“Your record may sound good, but do you want it to sound great?
“Do you want it to be as loud as a major label release?”
“Do you want extra attention paid to how the tracks flow from one to another?”
“Put it up next to the new “so and so” without changing the volume, do you hear a major difference?”
“Do you want to be sure the manufacturing plant will not reject your master disc and even more importantly, be assured that if it comes back from pressing with errors you will not be out of money because it was your fault.” ... Read More...

ABOUT SUPASLUMP
Supaslump Masters was founded by President/Chief Engineer, Greg Forsberg. Greg has a long history in the music business, from Engineer at the world famous Plant Studios in the Bay Area, to owning and operating Youth Engine Records in San Francisco, to a successful career as a freelance Producer.
Some of his more memorable credits include Digital Editing on John Lee Hooker/Van Morrison’s release “Don’t Look Back”. That record won 2 Grammy’s in 1998. He also spent time engineering for Raphael Saadiq in Sacramento, CA. as well as working on countless other Major Label records in various capacities. Between 2000 and late 2002, Greg taught at the college level.
He taught all aspects of Record Production and Post Production as well as large format SSL and Neve consoles, but he soon decided it was taking too much time away from Supaslump Masters and he then moved all operations to sunny Las Vegas, NV to ... Read More...
